Samoa has a third gender that is not legally recognized, known as Fa’afafine. This demographic experiences higher rates of intimate partner violence (IPV), domestic violence (DV), and sexual violence (SV). The ASA Alliance is currently working on a program/project to help this population. Under Porgrams/Projects their website has Tusitala Articles, where they share updates on what the Alliance is working on and discussions they’re having with the community.
“Empowering individuals and communities in American Samoa through collaboration, promoting resiliency, and strengthening capacity to eliminate Domestic and Sexual Violence.”
